Professor Dr. Ha Thanh Toan has served as the President of Can Tho University, Vietnam since March 2012. Prior to becoming President, Dr. Ha Thanh Toan was the Director of the Biotechnology Research and Development Institute at Can Tho University. His research interests are post-harvest technology of rice and tropical fruits to reduce post-harvest losses, improve process quality, application of biotechnology in food processing, application of new technology in food processing to improve Vietnamese traditional foods, and new models for higher education management in Vietnam.
